How We Research

This page explains exactly how ScopeRivo guides, comparisons and templates are put together, so you can judge how much weight to give them.

1. We start from the job, not the feature list

Before comparing any software, we list the jobs a small trade business needs it to do: booking a job, dispatching a technician, sending a quote, taking a payment, chasing an unpaid invoice, asking for a review. Each tool is described by how its published plans and features cover those jobs.

2. We work from official sources

Prices, plan limits, user counts and features come from each vendor’s own pricing and product pages, checked on the date shown at the top of every article. Facts about licensing, tax records, safety and wages come from official bodies such as the IRS, SBA, OSHA, EPA, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and GOV.UK. When a vendor does not publish prices, we say that pricing is quote-based instead of guessing.

3. We do not run hands-on product tests

ScopeRivo does not currently sign up for or test the products it covers, and we do not give star ratings or scores. Our guides are buyer’s guides compiled from official information, and each article says so in its sources section. If we ever add hands-on testing, we will say clearly which products were tested and how.

4. How articles are written and checked

We use AI tools to help with research, outlines and drafts. Every factual claim that carries a price, number or rule is recorded with its official source and checked against that source before publishing, and articles that fail those checks are held back. See our Editorial Policy for more on how we use AI.

5. What we compare

  • Core workflow: scheduling, dispatch, quoting, invoicing and payments, as described by the vendor.
  • Pricing: published monthly and annual prices, user limits and add-ons, with the date we checked them.
  • Fit by trade: features that matter to specific trades, such as HVAC service agreements or recurring lawn routes.
  • Integrations: accounting, payments and marketing tools the vendor lists.

6. We keep it current

Software prices change often. Every article shows the date it was last updated, and we re-check prices on the vendor’s official page whenever we update an article.

What does not affect our guides

Commissions, advertising and relationships with vendors play no part in what we recommend. When a link may earn us a commission, we say so on the page. Read more in our Editorial Policy and Affiliate Disclosure.
